View PDFDear Parents and Students, It has been more than two months since our city was ravaged by super typhoon Odette. Trees older than many of us were toppled down; many electric posts were down, and electric wires either got cut down or entangled; as early as 2 a.m. car owners and drivers were already outside gasoline stations queuing to buy fuel or to gas up; people standing outside water refilling stations to buy drinking water or water pumping stations to fill up containers with water for washing, bathing, etc. became a daily sight.

View PDF“It’s time to R.I.S.E.” is our theme for this school year. R – resting in the reign of God, I – increasing in the knowledge of God, S – shining as lights in the darkness, E – enjoying the sufficiency of God. As we deal with Covid-19, which is here to stay a while longer, we need to shift gears and recalibrate our life’s plans and purposes. It’s time to R.I.S.E
View PDFApril 9 is celebrated in the Philippines as the “Araw ng Kagitingan,” or “Day of Valor.” It is a day to mark the greatness and heroism of Filipino fighters during World War II. These soldiers stood strong against the Japanese invaders despite all odds of starvation, heat, and fatigue. These war veterans risked their lives, went to war to defend our country. Heroic deeds followed them that deserved to be remembered and honored. We are grateful to them.
View PDFJesus’ disciples were in the midst of a great storm. They saw the waves rising higher and higher; the boat that they were in was tossed here and there by the raging tempest; and water was getting inside the boat. They were frightened but Jesus was sleeping soundly. The disciples who could no longer stand their fright woke Jesus up from his sleep. “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” Jesus arose from his sleep and with one word He calmed the tempest. Immediately, the sea was still. “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” asked Jesus(Mark 4:35-41, ESV).
View PDFFor PCGS, the month of February is a special month. This is the month that we celebrate our Founder’s Day. We are turning 73 this year all because of God’s grace and faithfulness. As they say, how time flies! A year ago, we were still trying to understand the situation that we were in because of Covid-19. Instead of allowing parents to come to school to watch our annual Praise Cheer and Field Demonstration presentations, we had to hire a videographer to capture and upload all presentations in digital platform.
View PDFDuring the long lock down from April to June, I busied myself cleaning my room. I went over my files: sorting and re-sorting notes from my studies, teaching notes, all from way back in the ‘80s and ‘90s. I decided to throw away many of these notes. I also went over my bookshelves - books, and magazines - pulling out one book after another from the shelves to give away.
View PDFHow can we give thanks if things do not seem to be going well? How can we give thanks if the Covid19 is still around, and we do not know what the future holds? How can we give thanks if someone you care about is very sick? How can we give thanks if all the ready to harvest crops have been damaged by typhoons? How can we give thanks if we lost a loved one to the raging waters? Have we give thanks if someone you care about is very sick?
View PDFWe are approaching the end of October and moving towards All Saints and All Souls Day. Because of Covid-19, the government has forbidden visits to the cemeteries from October 30-November 2, the peak when people flock to the cemeteries to visit or pay respects to their departed loved ones. Death used to be a taboo topic; but not anymore.

View PDFThere is so much fear and uncertainty these days. How do we cope? Let me share what Rev. Danny Reyes shared during the PCGS Sunday last February 23. From Deuteronomy20:1-9 are some reminders that we may consider when there is impending threat – (1) Be reminded that the Lord your God is going with you; (2) be reminded that He will fight for you against your enemies; (3) be reminded that God will give you victory.

View PDFEvery 4th Thursday of November, the Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. It is a festive occasion usually celebrated with family members over a sumptuous meal. Historically, this tradition dates back to 1620 when the pilgrims,English religious dissenters, helped to establish the Plymouth Colony in present-day Massachusetts. The Bible has a lot to say about athletes
